Back when I was 19-20, I used to go to Canada every weekend. We'd get like 60-65 cents on the dollar... Pretty crazy that the US dollar has totally shit the bed and the Canadian dollar is doing so well.

Only benefits the rich anyway.

it only benefits the rich like GWB's tax cuts only benefits the rich or differently?

Let's try not to bring Bush into this..But the GST only effects people who buy alot of useless shit - like DVD's, new T.V's etc etc. But when a rich person buys a new million dollar house he'll notice how the tax cut effects him. Plus in the budget that was released yesterday income taxes are going up anyways..GST tax only matters to people who buy alot of consumer goods. Low income people obviously don't benefit from this. I bet buck's dumbass actually voted conservative cause he cared more about GST tax cuts rather than the future of our country. This is why I wish most people in my age bracket would know atleast the basics of politics. This tax cut is good policy not good politics as a globe and mail editorial stated.

I'm not trying to bring bush into this, it's just a lot of people said his tax cuts only benefited the rich, and that wasn't true, so I was just trying to clarify.

I'm no expert on American economic transitions. Only thing I'm sure of is that you are carrying a heavy burden..that burden being the debt. Something like 9 trillion, I think. Started in the 50's and hasn't stopped growing.

we are also experiencing fantastic growth rates!

I know. Now pay off that decently large debt.

c312
05-03-2006, 04:05 PM
well it's easier to do that with a stronger economy isn't it?

Well it is. But anyway, I'm really just trying to get a rise out of you, I agree we need to work reducing our debt, but I just don't think it needs to be the focal point of our fiscal policy.
