I'll be getting laser eye surgery (LASIK) this summer and would like to know if any of you know anyone that's had this done. Or maybe you've had it done to yourself. i would like to know if there were any complications that arose post-op or any other probelms in general.

I know several people around my age (21) who've had LASIK and they all have had no problems at all whatsoever. Furthermore, they are all ecstatic about the results.

I'm getting LASIK to meet the vision requirements for the Winnipeg police and the Canadian Army reserves. It costs around $3000. Any input is welcome. Thx

i'll check back here later in the late afternoon since i have to go to work now. it will probably be a slow work day since it's snowing outside and bike demand will be low. (i'm a bike mechanic/builder)

My fiance is getting it done at the end of the month. heard nothing but good things about the procedure's results.

You'll have to wear sunglasses for a few days. cool:

my HS chem teacher wasn't too thrilled.
apparently the over corrected the first time and he needed two or three more surgeries.

my gf had it done a couple of year ago... she was super happy with the results, she had to wear glasses or contacts all the time, but now not at all, and no side effects either...

When did he get it done? Apparently, the procedure these days is different and more advanced than earlier techniques...especially the LASIK procedure.

Ya. I think the techniques have evolved since then, but there is still a slight chance of repeat surgery.

My boss had it done. There were no side effects that I was aware of. I'd like to get it done too but it's too expensive for me right now.

the cost can depend on the level of correction, in my gf's case it was like $2000 canadian...

Yeah, my fiance's procedure will be about $1800 total.

The cheapest I've seen it was about $800 per eye. Cheap may not be the way to go in this case though...

My dad hit it done about 2 or 3 years ago, he said it was one of the best things that has ever happened to him. I want to get it done, but I dont think insurance covers it.

My astigmatism is nowhere near powerful enough to warrant lasik correction
but if it gets bad, I'm definitely getting the procedure done. -0.9 on the left
and -0.6 in the right. That's nothing...

0.1 on both eyes, appearently...
